Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has been banned from his local recycling center following a dispute with a staff member. The incident occurred when an attendant at the Woodhouse Lane Recycling Centre in Altrincham reportedly mistook Butt's Range Rover for a commercial vehicle because the rear seats were folded down.

Butt, 51, described the confrontation on The Good, The Bad and The Football Podcast, expressing his frustration. He stated that he was attempting to dispose of household waste, including cardboard and some bags that had been missed by the regular bin collection. The attendant allegedly informed Butt that he could not enter the site because his vehicle appeared to be commercial, citing the lowered seats and tinted windows as evidence.

Despite the attendant's orders, Butt proceeded into the facility. He recounted that the attendant then attempted to chase him up the ramp while using a walkie-talkie. After discarding his waste, Butt drove away, but the attendant continued to express anger. As a result, Butt claims he has been banned from the tip.

Butt, a celebrated figure at Manchester United, won the Champions League, six Premier League titles, and three FA Cups during his tenure at the club. He later moved to Newcastle in 2004. Since retiring from playing, Butt has held executive roles, including CEO of Salford City and head of Manchester United's academy.
