The National Football League issued an apology on Sunday after its NFL+ streaming app failed, preventing many fans from watching live action less than 20 minutes into the start of the new season.
Subscribers paying $14.99 per month or $99.99 for the full season to access NFL RedZone were met with technical issues by approximately 1:19 p.m. ET on Week 1. Hundreds of complaints flooded the league as users reported an inability to access the live feed of games.
The league acknowledged the widespread problems in a post on X, formerly Twitter. "We are aware of the issues affecting the NFL+ experience and are working to fix them. We apologize for the inconvenience," the NFL stated. The league also directed users experiencing difficulties to submit a ticket to their customer support team.
Fans expressed their frustration online. "Fix your stupid app. We can’t watch red zone," one user commented, while another asked, "The @NFL app not working for Week 1 and Red Zone is the most NFL thing ever. Refund? Lol."
