New England Patriots special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer, 37, has announced his engagement to sports reporter Kayla Burton, 31. The couple shared the news on Instagram, posting photos of the proposal at Swami's Beach in San Diego. Burton, a host for NBC Sports Boston, also shared moments of her engagement ring with friends and family.

Springer is preparing for his third season with the Patriots after previously coaching for the Los Angeles Rams. His coaching career includes eight years at the collegiate level. Burton's broadcasting career has included roles as a college football sideline reporter for ESPN and an anchor for NFL Network. Her sister, Veronica Burton, is a first-round WNBA draft pick and plays for the Golden State Valkyries.

This engagement follows a period of controversy for the Patriots organization, stemming from allegations involving head coach Mike Vrabel and NFL insider Dianna Russini. Vrabel and Russini were photographed together at an adults-only resort in Arizona earlier in 2026, leading to rumors of an affair. The New York Post published photos of them at the resort and at a New York bar in March 2020. Further reports from the Daily Mail included images of them at a casino in Mississippi in January 2024 and on a boat in Tennessee in 2021, when Vrabel was coaching the Titans and Russini was reporting for ESPN.

Initially denying the allegations, Vrabel stated he would seek professional help to become a better person after difficult conversations. He took time away from the team for counseling, prioritizing his family. Russini resigned from her position at The Athletic, asserting the accusations were untrue. Vrabel has been married to Jen since 1999, and Russini has been married to Kevin Goldschmidt since September 2020.
