The Brooklyn Nets are reportedly exploring options to strengthen their roster through free agency and trades, with at least three players identified as potential targets. The team is said to be interested in center Mitchell Robinson, guard Keon Ellis, and wing Trey Murphy III.

Mitchell Robinson

Following the recent trade of Nic Claxton, the Nets' center position is nominal, with Day'Ron Sharpe being the only player with significant experience at the position. However, Sharpe has limited starting experience. Mitchell Robinson, who has been a rim protector and strong rebounder for the New York Knicks, is seen as a potential solution. League personnel suggest Robinson is unlikely to re-sign with the Knicks. He is projected to command an annual salary between $13 million and $15 million, though the Nets may need to offer more to secure his services. His addition would provide the Nets with a formidable rebounding duo.

Keon Ellis

The Nets are also looking to address a deficiency in perimeter defense. Keon Ellis, a player who previously played for Sacramento when current Nets coach Jordi Fernández was an assistant, is considered a viable option. While there is no guarantee that Drake Powell will develop into a strong point-of-attack defender, Ellis could provide a capable defensive presence off the bench at a more affordable price point.

Trey Murphy III

With approximately $40 million in available cap space, the Nets could also pursue trade targets. While established players like Cason Wallace or Jaylen Brown might be out of reach, Trey Murphy III is noted as a player willing to leave the New Orleans Pelicans. Murphy, a skilled shooter, could be a high-priority target. Acquiring him would likely require multiple first-round draft picks. Reports suggest that the Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers are among the frontrunners to acquire Murphy, with numerous other teams also expressing interest.
