Jeremy Monga has completed a £10 million transfer from Leicester to Manchester City, a move that may have initially flown under the radar but is expected to mark the beginning of a significant career for the 17-year-old. Monga, who is the third-youngest player to ever feature in the Premier League, has joined Manchester City under former Leicester manager Enzo Maresca. He made his debut in a 3-1 friendly victory against a K-League XI in Seoul.

During his 30-minute appearance in the friendly, Monga showcased his youthful energy. He came close to marking his debut with a goal, but an effort was disallowed for handball, and another curling shot was saved by the goalkeeper.

The move to City saw Monga reject a stronger interest from Arsenal. "It [Arsenal interest] was very strong because it was very close to me going there, very close," Monga told BBC Sport. "The main decision was probably the pathway and the club itself. They've been so successful that it was a no-brainer when City call. It's every child's dream to win trophies and be at the top with the best." Monga expressed his belief that Manchester City is the better environment for his development. "Once I get the opportunity I just need to show myself, and once I do that, everything will take care of itself. I feel like, to me personally, I see myself at City more. I see myself in blue." The young player also cited Eden Hazard as an idol he hopes to emulate in his career.
