Mohamed Salah Receives Six-Month Driving Ban for Speeding Offense
The former Liverpool star was convicted of failing to provide driver identification after his Rolls-Royce was caught exceeding the speed limit.
Former Liverpool footballer Mohamed Salah has been handed a six-month driving ban after his Rolls-Royce was recorded speeding. The ban stems from an incident on March 27, when the player's vehicle was clocked traveling at 36 mph in a 30 mph zone in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Court documents indicate that Salah, 34, failed to respond to a notice of prosecution from Cheshire Constabulary, which sought to identify the driver at the time of the offense. He did not enter a plea to the charge. A spokesperson for Warrington Combined Court confirmed that Salah was convicted under the Single Justice Procedure for failing to provide information relating to the identification of the driver.
In addition to the driving ban, Salah was ordered to pay £1,044.
The speeding offense occurred just days after Salah announced his departure from Liverpool. The club confirmed his exit on March 24, stating that he had "firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history." Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for the team before transferring to Turkish club Trabzonspor following the 2025-26 season.
