Despite a challenging start to his tenure with the Los Angeles Dodgers, MLB legends Sammy Sosa, Gary Sheffield, and Darryl Strawberry have voiced strong confidence in outfielder Kyle Tucker's ability to rebound. The trio expressed their conviction that Tucker, currently in his first season with the Dodgers after a significant offseason trade and contract, will overcome his slump.

Tucker, who joined the Dodgers after four consecutive All-Star appearances with the Astros and Cubs, signed a four-year, $240 million contract. However, through 120 games, his performance has fallen short of expectations. He has recorded 11 home runs, seven stolen bases, 55 RBIs, and a .232 batting average. Recent games have also seen him drop crucial fly balls, drawing boos from the home crowd.

Sosa, speaking at the Harold & Carole Pump Foundation 26th Anniversary Celebrity Dinner, stated that while Tucker is currently struggling, he anticipates a strong playoff performance. "He's going to get back," Sosa said. "He's struggling now, but in the playoffs, he's going to be better."

Darryl Strawberry, a former Mets and Dodgers star, attributed Tucker's difficulties to the pressure of joining a new team on a large contract. "He's going to get out of it," Strawberry told the California Post. "He's too good of a player. He's done it before. So if he's already done it before, you still know how to do it."

Sheffield, who has known Tucker since his high school days in Florida, echoed this sentiment. "I know the kid from back home," Sheffield said. "I've known him since high school. He's going to bounce back. He just needs to get this year out of the way, come through in the playoffs, and all will be OK."

Tucker recently experienced an 0-for-26 hitting streak but showed signs of improvement in the Dodgers' series against the Colorado Rockies, recording hits in three of his nine at-bats over the final two games. The Dodgers are scheduled to play the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night.
