Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and careless driving in June, according to newly uncovered court records.

Police found the 29-year-old Sanders in his Lexus in the middle of William Penn Highway in Churchill Borough, near Pittsburgh, where he is from. An officer discovered Sanders "slumped over" in the driver's seat, according to a criminal complaint cited by CBS Pittsburgh.

Officers reportedly attempted to wake Sanders, who was described as "in and out of consciousness" and "extremely lethargic." According to police, he performed poorly on field sobriety tests and tested positive for alcohol. Marijuana was also found in Sanders' car.

Sanders was taken into custody and has a court date scheduled for September. The arrest occurred on June 8.
