Hall of Famer Michael Strahan expressed optimism about the New York Giants' prospects for the 2026 season, citing the team's potential under new head coach John Harbaugh and the energy of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Strahan, a former Giants defensive end, acknowledged the team's difficult 4-13 record in the previous season. However, he noted that the team was competitive in many games, particularly in the fourth quarter. "Last year, if you look at the record, it was bad [4-13]," Strahan told The Post. "But going into the fourth quarter of a lot of those games — if they’d closed out even half of them — it’s a completely different team."

He believes Harbaugh's coaching style will be crucial for success. "Now, I think you have a coach who’s a finisher," Strahan said. "As a coach and player, you have to believe you can win, not just want to win. It seemed like they started playing not to lose last year instead of playing to win. But that’s not really on the players, that’s coaching, play calling, situational execution."

Strahan also highlighted his positive impression of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. "I was impressed by [quarterback Jaxson] Dart as a rookie with the energy he brought to the team," he stated.
