Basketball icon Michael Jordan and Norwegian soccer star Erling Haaland recently crossed paths while vacationing in the South of France, resulting in a shared photograph that has garnered attention online.
Haaland posted the image on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption "No caption needed." In the photo, Jordan, 63, is seen smiling in a white T-shirt, khaki shorts, and a baseball cap. Haaland, 26, has his arm around Jordan's shoulder, also grinning.
While Haaland is typically the tallest person in most photographs, standing at 6 feet 5 inches (1.95 meters), he appeared slightly shorter than Jordan, who has been listed at 6 feet 6 inches since 1981. Social media users commented on the height difference, with one remarking, "Erling you look like a minion next to Jordan," and another noting, "I love how athletes could look so tall in their own sport until they stand next to basketball players."
Fans also observed Jordan's visible excitement in the photo, with one user writing, "I've never seen Jordan smile like this." Another commented, "Everyone loves Haaland."
Jordan has made Mediterranean cruises a summer tradition, often traveling on his estimated $115 million yacht with his wife Yvette and accompanied by celebrities such as David and Victoria Beckham and Magic Johnson.
Haaland has also been on an extended off-season break, which included a visit to the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc with his brother and friends. He was seen boarding a boat for an excursion at sea. Earlier in his vacation, Haaland attended a teammate's wedding in Southern Italy and celebrated his 26th birthday in Sardinia, where he was pictured wearing a Viking helmet.
Haaland is expected to rejoin Manchester City in time for their Community Shield match against Arsenal on August 16.
