Micah Parsons Nears Return to Packers Practice

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur announced Tuesday that star pass rusher Micah Parsons is nearing a return to practice, potentially as early as next week. Parsons has been on the reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP) list since tearing his ACL last December.

His potential return comes at a crucial time for the Packers (4-3), who currently sit last in the competitive NFC North division. Every team in the division has a winning record, with the Minnesota Vikings leading at 6-0, followed by the Chicago Bears (5-2) and the Detroit Lions (4-2).

Parsons, acquired by the Packers before last season, recorded 12.5 sacks and 41 tackles in 14 games in his previous season. His performance earned him Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors and placed him third in NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting. His absence has been a significant factor in the Packers' pass rush.

The Packers will play the Carolina Panthers (3-3) on Thursday night without Parsons.

Parsons has been a consistent standout for the Packers, earning Pro Bowl selections in each of his five NFL seasons. His return to practice could provide a significant boost to the team's defensive capabilities and their hopes for a playoff run.
