Mets' Jared Young Carted Off After Scary Mid-Game Collision

New York Mets outfielder Jared Young was carted off the field on Wednesday after sustaining a head injury during a collision with teammate Nolan McLean. The incident occurred in the top of the sixth inning with the Philadelphia Phillies leading 1-0.

As Justin Crawford advanced toward first base, a miscommunication between McLean and Young led to both players attempting to field the ball simultaneously. McLean's knee reportedly struck Young in the face, leaving the 31-year-old motionless on the ground.

Teammates immediately rushed to Young's aid. After several tense minutes, he was fitted with a neck brace and placed on a cart, which then transported him toward the clubhouse. Before departing the field, Young offered a thumbs-up to the crowd at Citi Field, drawing a wave of cheers.
