Drake Maye threw a last-second interception in the end zone, sealing a narrow 13-10 season-opening loss for the New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday night.

With 21 seconds remaining and the Patriots deep in Seattle territory, Maye's pass intended for Mack Hollins was intercepted by Seahawks cornerback Josh Jobe, denying New England a chance to tie or win the game. This was Maye's third interception of the fourth quarter.

The Seahawks secured the victory despite losing starting quarterback Sam Darnold to a hip injury just five snaps into the game. Darnold was ruled out before halftime, and the Seahawks trailed 10-0 late in the third quarter.

Backup quarterback Drew Lock led Seattle's second-half comeback. Jaxon Smith-Njigba scored the game's decisive touchdown, with Jason Myers kicking two field goals for the Seahawks. The game marked a rematch of Super Bowl LX.
