Mark Briscoe secured an AEW World Championship match against champion MJF following a chaotic 12-man steel cage match at the Forbidden Door event on Sunday. Briscoe's victory came after his ally, Andrade El Idolo, turned on MJF, creating an opening for Briscoe to secure the win.

The stipulation for the match stated that if Briscoe's team defeated MJF's team, Briscoe would earn a shot at the AEW World Championship. The match featured a unique circular cage designed to contain all 12 competitors. Elements of the contest included thumbtacks, unconventional weapons like a Nintendo Entertainment System, and high-risk maneuvers.

Andrade El Idolo, initially aligned with MJF, defied orders from the champion and his associate Don Callis. El Idolo removed his "Team DCMJF" shirt to reveal gear with expletives directed at MJF and Callis. He then delivered a backfist to MJF, paving the way for Briscoe.

Briscoe's team, comprised of O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Darby Allin, and Konosuke Takeshita, defeated MJF’s team, which included Andrade, Jake Doyle, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, and Kazuchika Okada. Following El Idolo's intervention, Briscoe pinned Jake Doyle to win the match.

Mark Briscoe is scheduled to face MJF for the AEW World Championship on the upcoming "Dynamite" broadcast on Wednesday.
