Marc Cucurella, the former Chelsea player now with Real Madrid, has honored Spain's World Cup-winning coach Luis de la Fuente with a tattoo, fulfilling a promise made before the tournament.
The tattoo, revealed on Instagram, features a portrait of the 65-year-old coach alongside the World Cup trophy. Cucurella shared the image with the caption, "Promise fulfilled."
Cucurella was a key player for Spain during their World Cup campaign, starting in all eight matches and helping the team secure seven clean sheets en route to their victory. Following the final, a 1-0 extra-time win over Argentina, De la Fuente had playfully commented on Cucurella's potential promise, stating, "I've already told them, 'did you make a mistake?' They did, but they'll enjoy it. I'm not so terribly ugly that they will need to put it somewhere nobody can see it. But it makes me laugh and I am proud they keep their promises."
Cucurella also carried his wife's pyjama top as a lucky charm throughout the World Cup tournament.
