Manchester United Sells Old Trafford Pitch Cubes Amidst Debt Concerns
The club is offering 7x7cm pieces of the historic pitch for £125 each as part of a memorabilia initiative.
Manchester United is selling pieces of its Old Trafford pitch for £125 each, an initiative announced on the same day the club reported that overall debt remains more than £1 billion.
The first batch of these turf cubes, measuring 7x7cm and preserved in glass, has already sold out. The club states on its website that the cubes serve as a "priceless memento of iconic games played at home and keeps the memories of matchdays alive."
The initiative comes as the club reported a record revenue of £677.6 million and an operating profit of £22.6 million for the 2025-26 financial year. However, this was accompanied by a pre-tax loss of £43 million. The club also confirmed that £63.5 million was spent on acquiring land for a new stadium, which is projected to cost over £2 billion in total.
This summer marked the first time in 14 years that the Old Trafford pitch was dug up and stripped back to its foundation. Sections of the removed turf were preserved for this sales initiative. The cubes are presented in black cases.
