Manchester United Goalkeeper Andre Onana Embraces Fire Therapy for Recovery

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is employing a highly unusual recovery technique that incorporates fire as part of his cupping therapy. The 30-year-old, currently on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor from Manchester United, shared footage of his recovery process, which involves placing heated cups on the skin to create suction.

While cupping therapy itself is a recognized method for relieving muscle tension and improving blood circulation, the addition of fire is an uncommon element. Onana was observed lying on a massage bed with numerous cups applied to his back, alongside ignited objects.

Onana joined Manchester United in 2023, but his tenure was marked by a decline in form, leading to him losing his starting position and subsequent loan move. He is still under contract with United but is not having his wages covered by the club, with expectations that he will depart permanently either this summer or upon his contract's expiration in 2028.

Trabzonspor's season has seen mixed results. The team was eliminated from the Europa League in the play-offs and lost their opening league match. However, they have since recovered, including a significant 5-0 victory over Galatasaray before the international break, during which Onana achieved his first clean sheet of the campaign. The club currently sits seventh in the league standings after six games.

Onana has also reportedly formed a friendship with Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah, who recently joined Trabzonspor. Salah scored a hat-trick in the team's latest win against Galatasaray.
