Manchester City has completed the signing of winger Iliman Ndiaye from Everton for a reported fee of £65 million. The transfer concludes Ndiaye's two-year tenure with the Merseyside club. Manchester City emerged victorious in a bidding war with Tottenham Hotspur for the forward's signature.
Discussions between Tottenham and Everton reportedly began last week, prompted by the possibility of Liverpool's Cody Gakpo joining Manchester City. Ndiaye had rejected multiple contract offers from Everton over the past year. During his time at Everton, he scored 17 goals and provided four assists in 74 appearances, having initially joined from Marseille in 2024 for £15 million.
Ndiaye never played under Tottenham's new head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, who was appointed by Marseille shortly before Ndiaye's departure from Everton. The winger was a key player for Sheffield United during their 2023 Championship promotion season and has earned 44 caps for Senegal.
A potential part-exchange deal involving Richarlison moving from Tottenham to Everton stalled, allowing Manchester City to finalize their acquisition. Everton is reportedly in talks to re-sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City as Ndiaye's replacement. Ndiaye could make his debut for City in their upcoming match against Coventry, given Jeremy Doku's injury status.
