Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Malachi Toney continued his signature Heisman pose celebration on Thursday night during the team's commanding 77-7 victory against Florida A&M. Toney scored a touchdown early in the second quarter, putting Miami up 27-0, and struck the pose for the fourth time this season.
Toney, considered an early favorite for the Heisman Trophy, finished the game with 96 receiving yards on four receptions, leading all Miami wideouts. One of his notable plays included a 52-yard reception in the first quarter where he leaped over a Florida A&M defensive back to make the catch.
The game saw the Hurricanes dominate Florida A&M, leading to an agreement between coaches to shorten the fourth quarter to 10 minutes. Miami's offense proved formidable, scoring 122 points in their first two games of the season. Quarterback Darian Mensah commented on the offense's success, attributing it to the offensive line.
The victory also set program records for Miami, tying a record for points scored and establishing a new record with 856 total yards. The Hurricanes improved their season record to 2-0 with the decisive win.
