Luke Pettitte, son of longtime New York Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte and special adviser to the team, has signed a contract with the organization after being selected in the eighth round of the 2026 MLB Draft. The signing ceremony on Wednesday was attended by his parents, Andy and Laura Pettitte, as well as his fiancée, Brooklyn.
The younger Pettitte, 21, celebrated the milestone by posing for a photo with his family and fiancée in front of a screen welcoming him to the Yankees. Luke and Brooklyn, who have been together since high school in 2023, announced their engagement in May. They plan to marry on October 4, 2026.
Luke Pettitte played college ball at Dallas Baptist University, where he served as the designated hitter this past season. He hit 16 home runs in 42 games after undergoing Tommy John surgery the previous year, which prevented him from pitching. He is considered a two-way player.
His brother, Josh Pettitte, shared a video of Luke's college home run on Instagram, expressing excitement about him playing in pinstripes. Andy Pettitte, a former three-time All-Star, won five World Series titles with the Yankees during his playing career and rejoined the franchise in 2023. He coached all four of his sons—Josh, Jared, Lexy, and Luke—in high school, and all of them played at Dallas Baptist University.
