Ludek Miklosko, a cherished former goalkeeper and coach for West Ham United, has died at the age of 64. The club announced his passing with "deep and profound sadness," remembering him as a "legendary former goalkeeper and coach." Miklosko played nearly 400 matches for West Ham between 1990 and 1998, earning widespread admiration from supporters who continued to chant his name long after his departure. He later returned to the club in a goalkeeping coach role. Miklosko had withdrawn from cancer treatment in December 2024, three years after his initial diagnosis. Shortly thereafter, he received a hero's welcome upon returning to West Ham's London Stadium for a Premier League match against Liverpool. West Ham United described him as their "beloved, inspirational goalkeeper and gentle giant of a man."
