Liverpool Football Club has installed a permanent memorial at Anfield to honor Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva. The tribute, named 'Forever 20,' is situated on 97 Avenue, a location where fans paid respects following the brothers' deaths.

Diogo Jota and Andre Silva tragically died in a car crash on July 3, 2025. Jota was a prominent player for Liverpool, having been part of the squad that won the Premier League title just months prior to his death. During the 2025-26 season, supporters consistently honored Jota by singing his name in the 20th minute of every match, and the club retired his No. 20 shirt.

The 'Forever 20' memorial celebrates the brothers' lives and their connection. At its center is a flowing heart sculpture, inspired by Jota's signature goal celebration, which displays the numbers 20 and 30 from different angles, representing Jota's and Silva's shirt numbers, respectively. The lyrics of Jota's popular fan chant are also incorporated into the memorial.

Sculptor Emma Rodgers designed the memorial, incorporating elements from tributes left by fans worldwide. Some of these fan mementos are embedded within the sculpture and plinth. The design conveys the enduring bond between the brothers and the love and admiration they received from family, teammates, and fans.

Also included on the plinth is a PlayStation controller, referencing Jota's known passion for gaming and his goal celebration. The club stated that "every detail has been carefully considered" and that the memorial serves as a "permanent symbol of love, unity and remembrance."

In addition to the memorial, Jota's memory is being honored internationally. Portugal's World Cup coach, Roberto Martinez, named Jota as an honorary member of his squad, with players wearing bracelets bearing his name. Jota's parents were also invited by the Portuguese Football Federation to attend their opening World Cup match, where an image of Jota was displayed during the national anthems.

During his career at Liverpool, Jota played 123 times, scoring 47 goals, and won the Premier League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup.
