Liverpool is actively working to finalize a deal for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, although the French club's valuation of the player has escalated. Barcola, a 23-year-old French international, has expressed his unwillingness to sign a new contract with PSG and is reportedly receptive to joining Liverpool, a club that has shown long-standing interest.
PSG is contemplating Barcola's sale. With two years remaining on his current contract, the club believes his age, potential, and current market trends justify a £140 million valuation. Liverpool aims to negotiate a lower figure, as Barcola's price was reportedly closer to £75 million when the club first inquired about him last summer.
Barcola has not been a consistent starter for PSG under Luis Enrique. The club's pursuit of RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, which would have further limited Barcola's opportunities, is now complicated by Real Madrid's strong interest in the Ivorian international. Liverpool had previously submitted an £85 million offer for Diomande, but Barcola has remained a target.
Sources suggest Barcola possesses the skillset to fit manager Andoni Iraola's tactical approach and could provide a significant goal threat, potentially filling the void left by Mohamed Salah's departure. Other clubs, including Arsenal and Bayern Munich, have also expressed interest in Barcola, with Chelsea making preliminary inquiries earlier in the summer. Arsenal is reportedly exploring a major investment for Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr and also maintains interest in Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez. However, if Liverpool can reach an agreement with PSG, Barcola is understood to prefer a move to Anfield.
