Liverpool are reportedly considering an approach for Paris Saint-Germain wingers Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola. The Anfield club has been made aware of the availability of the two players earlier in the transfer window.

Mbaye, an 18-year-old right winger, has emerged as an option to potentially replace Mohamed Salah, who has departed for Trabzonspor. Mbaye played a notable role for Senegal in the World Cup, becoming the youngest African scorer in the tournament's history with a goal against France. He has been at PSG since 2018, making 33 senior appearances and scoring four goals. He previously represented France at youth level before switching his international allegiance to Senegal in 2025.

Barcola, who prefers playing on the left wing, is also being assessed by Liverpool. Concerns over the squad's attacking capability and lack of goal-scoring have prompted the club to consider strengthening their forward line with these PSG talents.

While Manchester City and Tottenham were previously understood to have shown interest in Mbaye, Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen has reportedly made the most significant progress in their pursuit. The asking price for the young PSG wingers is expected to be high, with reports suggesting PSG would demand over £150 million.

In related transfer news, Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo has attracted interest from Tottenham. However, Liverpool has no plans to sell the Dutch international, who is contracted until 2030. Despite a less prolific season last term with nine goals, Gakpo remains highly valued by the club, especially given his strong performance in the 2024-25 season when he scored 18 goals. The club's stance on Gakpo would require a substantial offer to change.

The situation regarding Mbaye and Barcola is expected to become clearer in the coming days as discussions between the clubs continue.
