LIV Golf's season will conclude early, with its team championship event originally scheduled for late August in Michigan being canceled.

The tournament set to take place at The Club at Chatham Hills in Indianapolis from August 20-23 will now serve as the venue to determine LIV's individual and team champions. This adjustment confirms recent speculation about the viability of the $40 million Michigan event.

“By concluding the season now, we can put our full resources behind what comes next and maintain the operational rigor this transition demands,” said LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil in a statement. The league has been actively seeking new financial backing, as its current funding from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund is slated to conclude at the end of the season.

O’Neil indicated earlier this month that new investors have been secured to support LIV Golf beyond the current season, aiming for operations in 2027 and subsequent years. The upcoming Indianapolis event is also expected to see Jon Rahm secure his third consecutive individual title, with players like Bryson DeChambeau, Joaquin Niemann, Lucas Herbert, and Tyrrell Hatton competing for second and third place.
