Littler Overcomes Early Deficit to Advance in World Series Finals

World number one Luke Littler advanced to the next round of the World Series of Darts Finals after overcoming an early deficit against Danny Noppert in Amsterdam. Noppert, the former UK Open champion, took an early 3-1 lead.

Littler, who had recently defeated Noppert 6-0 in the Czech Darts Open, found himself trailing. After leveling the match at 3-3, Littler responded to crowd boos by tapping his ears. Despite subsequently busting his score, he maintained his advantage when Noppert failed to capitalize.

With the score tied at 4-4, Littler secured a crucial 95 checkout, roaring in celebration and moving within one leg of victory, which he then comfortably sealed.

Littler is set to face fellow Englishman Nathan Aspinall in the next round. Aspinall defeated Raymond Smith 6-4 to progress.

In other matches, Gerwyn Price of Wales defeated Brody Klinge 6-4. Price had established a commanding 5-0 lead before Klinge mounted a comeback, but Price ultimately closed out the match. Price will now play Jim Long.

Motomu Sakai advanced by beating Callan Rydz 6-5, while James Wade overcame Damon Heta with the same scoreline. Jonny Clayton of Wales will compete against Sakai after his 6-3 victory over Maik Kuivenhoven.

Defending champion Michael van Gerwen was eliminated, losing 6-5 to Daryl Gurney. World number two Luke Humphries will face Dirk van Duijvenbode after defeating Wattimena.
