Postgame video recordings show Messi pointing at Garber during conversations. Another clip appears to show the two men pointing at each other while engaged in discussion.
Major League Soccer has declined to comment on the interactions. Inter Miami has not yet responded to a request for comment.
The match marked a significant moment for Messi, who scored his 100th goal for Inter Miami during the game. This victory adds another trophy to Inter Miami's collection since Messi's arrival, following their wins in the Leagues Cup in 2023, the Supporters’ Shield in 2024, and the MLS Cup in 2025.
