Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall has signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay until 2031. The deal represents a significant commitment from the 22-year-old left-back, who has become a key player for the Magpies since joining from Chelsea in 2023.
Hall, a boyhood supporter of Newcastle, expressed his pride in extending his tenure. "It's an absolute pleasure to play for this club and to represent the supporters," he stated. "I know how much it means to them."
He highlighted the familial connection to the club as a significant factor. "One of the main reasons I play is to make my family proud, and I know how much it means to them to watch me playing for Newcastle United," Hall added. He also noted optimism regarding the team's recent performance and the arrival of new staff, including manager Matthias Jaissle.
Manager Jaissle described Hall as a "very important player for us and for what we are building here." He praised the defender's mentality, stating, "He wants to learn every day and he wants to be better in every match." Jaissle also lauded Hall's physical attributes and defensive intelligence, adding that his technical ability allows him to contribute offensively. "What excites me most is that I believe the best is still to come from Lewis," Jaissle commented. "He has a lot of room to develop, and I am looking forward to working with him as he grows with us."
Hall has made 106 appearances for Newcastle since his transfer. The extension comes at a time when the club is seeking to build on its recent successes.
