Lewandowski Scores Hat-Trick, Dzeko Retires in Nations League Action

Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick to lead Poland to a dominant 6-0 victory in the Nations League. The veteran striker, 38, was instrumental in Poland's commanding performance.

In the same group, emotional scenes marked Edin Dzeko's retirement from international football following Bosnia-Herzegovina's 1-1 draw at home against Sweden. Dzeko, 40, a former Manchester City forward, had a late first-half goal disallowed because the ball had gone out of play in the build-up. Fireworks lit up the stadium after 11 minutes to celebrate the number 11, marking his 152nd international appearance. He received a standing ovation when he was substituted in the 62nd minute in Zenica. Following the match, an official ceremony, a guard of honor, and a drone show displaying messages of thanks were held for Dzeko, who was also showered with soft toys by the crowd during a lap of honor.

Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres opened the scoring for Sweden, but Kerim Alajbegovic equalized for Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Elsewhere, Kevin de Bruyne scored twice as Belgium defeated Turkey 3-0 to secure second place in Group A1. The 35-year-old Napoli midfielder found the net once in each half before Romelu Lukaku added a third goal.

In Group B2, Liverpool defender Milos Kerkez scored the sole goal in Hungary's victory over Georgia in Budapest, marking their first win of the Nations League campaign. Hungary currently sits third in the group, three points behind leaders Northern Ireland.
