Leeds United has completed the signing of defender Tarik Muharemovic from Serie A club Sassuolo for a fee of £34.1 million. The 23-year-old Bosnia-Herzegovina international has agreed to a five-year contract with the English club.

Muharemovic's arrival is intended to fill the void left by Pascal Struijk, who transferred to Brighton for £20 million in June. This move marks Leeds' second acquisition of the summer, following the free transfer of Harry Wilson from Fulham.

The centre-back represented his country at this summer's World Cup. He was involved in the incident that led to the dismissal of USA forward Folarin Balogun during a match. Muharemovic himself received a red card in a separate game against Switzerland.
