LeBron James Utilizes Fanatics Deal for Helicopter Commute to 76ers Practices
Star player leverages corporate aviation access for travel between New York and Philadelphia.
LeBron James, now in his first season with the Philadelphia 76ers, is reportedly commuting to practices via helicopter from New York City. This unique travel arrangement is facilitated by a clause in his brand deal with Fanatics, which provides access to the company's corporate aviation.
A spokesperson for James confirmed this arrangement, stating that the deal signed nearly three years ago includes corporate aviation, a feature present in many of Fanatics' agreements with top athletes. This allows James to manage his time between New York and Philadelphia.
The helicopter travel cuts down the commute time significantly. A typical drive between Philadelphia and New York can take up to two hours, while the flight is approximately 30 minutes.
James joined the 76ers on a two-year, $8 million contract, marking his move to the East Coast after eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. This season marks his 24th in the NBA.
In addition to James, the 76ers have acquired Jaylen Brown, strengthening their roster alongside existing players Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey as they aim to contend in the Eastern Conference.
