Lawrence Dallaglio to auction 2003 World Cup medal amid bankruptcy

Former England captain Lawrence Dallaglio is set to auction his 2003 Rugby World Cup winner's medal following his declaration of bankruptcy. The 54-year-old is selling a number of items from his career, with the World Cup medal expected to fetch between £50,000 and £80,000.
The collection, which also includes other medals, trophies, and caps, is estimated to be worth around £180,000. Dallaglio was a key player in the England team that secured a dramatic victory over Australia in the 2003 World Cup final.
Among the other items going under the hammer are a British and Irish Lions cap, his 1993 Rugby World Cup Sevens winner's medal, and a 2003 Six Nations Championship winner's medal.
Dallaglio recently spoke about his financial situation on The High Performance podcast, attributing his bankruptcy to his divorce. He described facing financial problems and stated he could have managed things better. He also mentioned seeking therapy after experiencing self-pity following his divorce and bankruptcy.
The auction is scheduled to take place at Budd's in Northamptonshire on October 13.
