Legendary Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, marking an emotional induction ceremony that highlighted his storied career and deep family ties. His bronze bust was unveiled by his son, Devin Fitzgerald, a freshman wide receiver at Notre Dame, in front of a crowd at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

Fitzgerald, who holds numerous receiving records and ranks second all-time in receptions and receiving yards, received his gold jacket before his son pulled the cover off the newly installed statue. The event honored one of the NFL's most accomplished pass catchers.

During his induction speech, Fitzgerald addressed Cardinals fans and reflected on the mentors who shaped his career. He specifically thanked the late coach Dennis Green, who drafted Fitzgerald in the first round of the NFL draft when Green was coaching the Cardinals. Fitzgerald noted that Green and general manager Rod Graves trusted his potential despite other team needs.

Fitzgerald also shared anecdotes with former Minnesota Vikings teammates and Hall of Famers Cris Carter and Randy Moss. He lightheartedly jested with Carter about whose hands were better, acknowledging Carter's presence. Addressing Moss, Fitzgerald expressed admiration, stating he learned little from "The Freak" because Moss's on-field abilities were unparalleled. He also shared his happiness that Moss is healthy.

In a particularly poignant moment, Fitzgerald spoke about his father, Larry Fitzgerald Sr., a Minnesota sports journalist who passed away months prior to the ceremony. He described his father as the family's foundation and the standard by which he measured himself, acknowledging his father's sacrifices and unwavering support.

Fitzgerald concluded by expressing gratitude to the Cardinals fans for their unwavering support over his 22-year career, pledging to spend the rest of his life reciprocating their goodwill.
