Lakers' Ziaire Williams Out Against Warriors With Foot Injury

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without starting wing Ziaire Williams for their NBA Cup Group Play opener against the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. Williams is missing his second consecutive game due to left foot injury management.

The Lakers officially ruled Williams out six hours before tipoff at Chase Center. He had been listed as questionable heading into the matchup.

Williams also sat out of the Lakers' Wednesday win against the Los Angeles Clippers. His injury designation prior to that game was left foot soreness. He has started in all four regular-season games he has played in this season, as well as the two preseason games he participated in.

Williams' last appearance was in Tuesday's loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, where he recorded 11 points, four assists, and two steals in 29 minutes. He is currently averaging 11.3 points per game on 57.1% shooting from the field, including 46.7% from three-point range, along with 3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals.

The Lakers are also continuing to manage injuries for Cameron Carr (right oblique strain) and Adou Thiero (left knee injury management). Thiero's injury status was updated from "left knee effusion/swelling" to simply "injury management" before the game against the Clippers.
