Lakers Guard Collin Sexton Expected to Make Season Debut Against Clippers
After missing the preseason and the season opener with a calf injury, Sexton has been removed from the injury report.
Los Angeles Lakers guard Collin Sexton is expected to make his season debut on Friday when the team hosts the Clippers. Sexton has been off the team's injury report after recovering from a strained right soleus, also known as a calf injury.
He missed all of the preseason and the Lakers' season-opening win against the Warriors on Wednesday. Sexton was a full participant in practice for the first time on Monday, but the decision was made for him to sit out the opener.
"No setback, no setback," Lakers coach JJ Redick said Wednesday. "Collaborative decision with performance, everyone involved. I always say this, with soft tissue injuries, the athlete has to have confidence and full confidence."
The Lakers' backcourt is anticipated to be significantly bolstered by Sexton's return.
