Lakers' Austin Reaves, Walker Kessler to Miss Preseason Opener
Guard Austin Reaves (ankle) and center Walker Kessler (finger) are sidelined for Monday's game against the Kings, though coach JJ Redick calls them 'fine'.
Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves and center Walker Kessler will not play in the team's preseason opener against the Sacramento Kings on Monday night. Reaves suffered an ankle tweak, while Kessler jammed a finger on the backboard.
Coach JJ Redick stated that both players are "fine" and are considered day-to-day. "Both are fine," Redick said regarding the status of Reaves and Kessler.
Additionally, veteran guard Collin Sexton and forward Arthur Kaluma are also sidelined for the game due to "very light lower-body injuries." Sexton was seen with his right lower leg and calf wrapped during the team's shootaround on Monday.
All four players' conditions are being monitored, with their status for future games to be determined on a day-to-day basis.
