Kelly Stafford, wife of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, has drawn criticism from NFL fans for her complaints regarding the team's schedule. Stafford shared her frustrations on Instagram Stories, expressing discontent with the Rams' upcoming bye week and their subsequent game on the day before Thanksgiving.
The Rams are scheduled to play the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10, followed by a bye in Week 11. However, they are set to play the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday, November 25, which is the day before Thanksgiving. This arrangement results in a 10-day turnaround after their bye, rather than the typical two-week break.
Stafford stated in her Instagram story, "Not for the Rams, though, because they didn't get a bye week." She elaborated on the concept of a bye week and questioned the league's decision-making, writing, "Just curious to hear the thought process behind making the Rams the only team in the NFL without a true bye week."
She added, "Because damn, after 18 years around this league, even I need a week off during the season... and I have never played a single snap. I'm tired just watching from the stands. Can't imagine how the guys feel."
Fans quickly took to social media to criticize Stafford's remarks. Many labeled her as "out of touch" and a "moaning millionaire," pointing to her husband's substantial salary. One comment noted, "Relax your husband makes tens of millions of dollars to play 17 games a year." Matthew Stafford reportedly signed a one-year, $55 million contract for the 2026 season.
Other fans highlighted that the Packers face the same schedule and that the Rams effectively have a nearly three-week stretch with only one game. Some also pointed out that the schedule was released in May, well before Stafford's public comments. The criticism extended to suggestions that with the Rams' current 4-4 record, Stafford might have more time off than expected later in the season.
