Sports host Katie Nolan dedicated a segment of her SiriusXM podcast to address the impending arrival of her new colleague, Boomer Esiason, following a recent partnership announcement. The collaboration between Audacy and SiriusXM will make WFAN's "Boomer and Gio" program available on SiriusXM.
During Wednesday's episode of "Casuals with Katie Nolan," Nolan played several audio clips of Esiason's past on-air comments, framing them as "dumb things" she learned about during the partnership announcement. She humorously suggested to her producer, Isabella Joson, that human resources might require her to ensure a safe workplace environment with Esiason.
Among the clips shared was Esiason's comment calling Chinese-American freestyle skier Eileen Gu "insufferable" after her appearance at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Another clip featured Esiason suggesting Olympic athletes who spoke out against ICE and the Trump administration should "pipe down" and "respect the flag."
Nolan also played a 2025 clip where Esiason laughed while suggesting that Yankees color commentator Suzyn Waldman should do a Vagisil endorsement, following a promo for Dude Wipes by Yankees radio voice Dave Sims. Joson, reacting to the clips, expressed surprise, stating, "This is a person on-air? They allow him to have a job? That's my new coworker!"
Further clips included Esiason's 2014 remarks suggesting then-Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy should have encouraged his wife to schedule a C-section to ensure his availability for Opening Day. Joson sarcastically responded again, "That's my coworker! I'm just offended that I wasn't asked first if he could be my coworker. That's all I'm saying. I hate that I'm blindsided, but whatever."
Nolan stated she discovered the news of the partnership when it was publicly announced, implying a lack of prior notification. She later role-played an introduction for Esiason to his new SiriusXM colleagues. Nolan concluded the segment by welcoming Esiason, advising him to "Clean it up" and to bring his co-host, Gregg Giannotti. Esiason and Giannotti are not direct SiriusXM employees, but their WFAN show will now be broadcast on satellite radio in addition to its existing platforms.
