Kane Scores Brace in England's Dominant Victory
Captain Harry Kane netted twice, reaching a personal milestone, as England secured a convincing 3-0 win against the Czech Republic.
Harry Kane marked his 125th appearance for England, equaling Peter Shilton's record for the most caps, by scoring two goals in their 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic on Tuesday.
The England captain opened the scoring for the Three Lions and later added a second to secure his brace. The win concluded an extended international break for the squad.
Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had some shaky moments but largely remained in control. Trent Alexander-Arnold was given another opportunity and utilized his ball-playing ability effectively against the Czech Republic's defense. Jarell Quansah appeared comfortable at center-back, and Marc Guehi, despite a couple of lapses, had a solid game. Lewis Hall also had a successful international period, solidifying his claim for the left-back position.
Midfielders Elliot Anderson and Myles Lewis-Skelly both contributed positively. Anderson provided a key pass for England's second goal, while Lewis-Skelly's output on his return to the international scene suggests he could be unlucky to miss the next squad. Eberechi Eze showed improvement in the second half after a quiet first half, but did not force himself into selection contention for manager Thomas Tuchel. Jude Bellingham, while not reaching the heights of his previous performance, still displayed class on the ball.
Morgan Rogers demonstrated versatility by starting on the right wing and posed a genuine threat. Substitutes James Garner, Jarrad Branthwaite, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Rio Ngumoha also featured, gaining further international experience. Dominic Calvert-Lewin came on late in the match to replace Kane.
Subs not used for England included James Trafford, Jason Steele, Bukayo Saka, Anthony Gordon, Trevoh Chalobah, and Rico Lewis.
