Juventus is reportedly preparing an initial offer of approximately £6 million, plus performance-related bonuses, for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. The Serie A club is said to be willing to take a gamble on the Argentina international despite concerns over a finger injury he is currently dealing with.
Sources indicate that Martinez's representatives have already agreed on terms with Juventus intermediaries earlier in the summer. If the transfer materializes, Martinez could expect to earn around £200,000 per week, a substantial increase from his current reported £130,000-a-week contract at Aston Villa.
In anticipation of a potential departure, Aston Villa is reportedly lining up Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki as a replacement. The transfer fee for Suzuki is estimated to be as high as £30 million, although he would earn significantly less than Martinez.
Martinez's potential exit, along with those of Youri Tielemans and Lucas Digne, would represent a significant reduction in Aston Villa's top earners. This could provide the club with more flexibility regarding UEFA spending regulations, but it would also mean a loss of seniority in the squad. The club also faces ongoing interest from Arsenal in defender Ezri Konsa, with the North London club reportedly having made a £40 million offer, falling short of Villa's £60 million valuation.
