Justin Tucker, widely regarded as one of the greatest kickers in NFL history, participated in a workout with the New York Jets on Wednesday. He was among three kickers, including Michael Badgley and Joshua Karty, to audition for the team, according to reports.
Tucker has not played in the NFL since the 2024 season, when he served a 10-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy. The Baltimore Ravens released him in May 2025, after 13 seasons with the franchise, following allegations from 16 female massage therapists. These accusations detailed claims of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior during sessions between 2012 and 2016 at spas around Baltimore.
Tucker has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. His legal team presented information, including an email from an accuser, which they stated cast doubt on the accusations. Tucker and his wife also publicly addressed the allegations in 2025.
He was never criminally charged nor sued civilly in relation to these claims. The situation has drawn comparisons to that of Deshaun Watson, who faced allegations from numerous massage therapists and ultimately settled civil lawsuits, receiving an 11-game suspension. However, the Cleveland Browns signed Watson to a significant contract despite the allegations, a decision that has been questioned given Watson's subsequent performance. The Ravens, in contrast, released Tucker after the allegations became public.
Tucker's NFL future remains uncertain. In the 2024 season, his last, he posted a career-low field goal accuracy of 73.3%. He also worked out for the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts in previous attempts to return to the league, but neither team signed him. Tucker is set to turn 37 in November.
