Josh Allen Faces Accusations of 'Flopping' After Sideline Incident
NFL fans criticize Buffalo Bills quarterback's reaction to a bump from Patriots' Dre'Mont Jones during Sunday's game.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is facing criticism from NFL fans who accuse him of "flopping" after a video circulated showing his reaction to a collision with New England Patriots player Dre'Mont Jones.
The incident occurred during the Patriots' 29-26 victory over the Bills at Highmark Stadium. In the clip, Allen throws the ball and then his momentum carries him toward the sideline. As he looks downfield, Jones bumps into him. Allen's head snaps back, and he falls to the ground dramatically before turning to officials.
The footage quickly gained traction on social media, with many users calling Allen's reaction "disgusting" and suggesting he was feigning injury for his benefit. Some fans commented that the quarterback should have been penalized, with one user stating, "This is not soccer." Another sarcastically remarked, "[I] can't believe he wasn't carted off the field."
Despite the controversy surrounding Allen's reaction, it was his counterpart, Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who led his team to victory. Maye threw three touchdown passes, including a one-handed catch by Efton Chism with 1:50 remaining, securing the 29-26 win for New England. Romeo Doubs contributed two touchdown catches, and Rhamondre Stevenson scored on a short run.
