Jonathan Taylor's Wife Expresses Concern Over Colts' Future Amid Trade Frenzy
Ayanna Taylor questions player safety and team stability following significant trades.

The Indianapolis Colts' recent trade of Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks and Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers has sparked uncertainty among players and their families regarding the team's future. Ayanna Taylor, wife of star running back Jonathan Taylor, voiced her concerns in a TikTok video, questioning whether "literally anybody safe on this team?"
Ayanna Taylor expressed anxieties about potential further trades, asking if she and her husband needed to "start packing our bags" and if their daughter would be able to spend Halloween with her father. She noted that the trades left her mind "spiraling" and highlighted the abrupt nature of such decisions in the NFL, where a player's situation can change with "one phone call or apparently one post."
She recalled that the season already felt different after the Colts traded wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and linebacker Zaire Franklin during the offseason, with whom she had developed close relationships. Taylor emphasized the personal impact of these roster moves on the families of the players, stating, "for the first time, some of the women who I started this life experience with were no longer going to be on the same team as me."
Concerns were also raised about the team's performance without Nelson, whom Ayanna Taylor described as the best offensive lineman her husband has had in his career. Despite the team's struggles, Jonathan Taylor has maintained strong individual performance. In seven games this season, he has rushed for 587 yards and eight touchdowns, with 17 receptions for 178 receiving yards.
Jonathan Taylor signed a two-year, $44 million contract extension with the Colts in August, with his current contract extending through the 2028 season. The team is scheduled to host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Ayanna Taylor's comments suggest that if more trades occur before the Nov. 10 deadline, Sunday's game could potentially be her husband's last with the Indianapolis Colts.
