England defender John Stones is in advanced negotiations with Inter Milan regarding a free transfer to the Italian club. Stones became a free agent after his contract with Manchester City expired at the end of June.

Several European clubs, including Chelsea and Juventus, have expressed interest in the 32-year-old centre-back. However, reports indicate that Inter Milan has held positive discussions and is currently leading the race to secure his signature on a two-year contract.

Stones joined Manchester City from Everton for £47.5 million in 2016 and made 295 appearances for the club. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the team's success, winning six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups, five League Cups, three Community Shields, the Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup.

Prior to his club career, the former Barnsley defender earned 93 international caps for England and was part of the squad that achieved a third-place finish at the World Cup.
