NFL legend JJ Watt shared an amusing story about being temporarily barred from entering the Denver Broncos stadium on Sunday morning, prior to calling the game for CBS. Watt, who is now a lead game analyst for CBS, explained that he had gone for an early morning walk and decided to visit the stadium.
Upon arriving, Watt realized he had not brought his media credential, as he hadn't planned to visit the stadium that morning. Despite successfully passing a facial recognition scan that identified him, stadium security refused him entry because he lacked a physical credential. Watt recounted the exchange, stating that even an offer from an employee to escort him onto the field was denied by security.
"Respect to the Broncos security staff, but I couldn't get into the stadium this morning, so I still haven't been on the field yet," Watt said. A co-host humorously noted that this was likely the "only person in the history of the universe to be able to successfully block JJ Watt."
Watt eventually made his way into the stadium and to the broadcast booth without further issue. He then called the game, which saw the Broncos secure a narrow victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, decided by a defensive stop in the final seconds.
