Jayden Reed's Girlfriend Provides Update After Terrifying Neck Injury

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is recovering after suffering a frightening neck injury on the second offensive play of the team's Week 2 game against the New York Jets. Reed, 26, was hit awkwardly by Demario Davis after catching a four-yard screen pass from Jordan Love, falling motionless on the MetLife Stadium turf.

Medical personnel immobilized Reed, placed him on a spinal board, and transported him off the field in a cart. He was taken to a hospital for observation and evaluation, with reports confirming he retained feeling and movement in his extremities.

His girlfriend, Aneisha Cox, who has been dating Reed since 2022, was watching the game on television and decided to travel to New York after the injury occurred. She shared updates on her TikTok account, stating Reed is "doing very good" but that his recovery is "day-by-day."

"Everyone wants to be a WAG, everyone wants to be in this type of life, until it comes to these situations," Cox said. "And unfortunately, it's a matter of when not if. You never think it's going to be you or your significant other until that call comes through or you're literally watching that game on TV."

Cox recounted her immediate efforts to reach Reed, looking for flights and driving to Appleton, Wisconsin, to catch the earliest available flight to New York, with a connection in Detroit. She described the chaos of receiving numerous calls and texts while prioritizing getting to Reed.

Reed returned to Green Bay on Tuesday. Head coach Matt LaFleur stated it is "way too early" to determine if Reed will be able to play again this season. The wide receiver is undergoing additional medical tests and has not practiced since his return, with no timetable set for his return to the field.

Following the incident, Reed posted on X (formerly Twitter), "Doing much better, appreciate all the prayers and support."
