Jay-Z Reportedly Taps Himself for Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show
The music mogul is said to have chosen himself over Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Harry Styles for the performance at SoFi Stadium.
Jay-Z has reportedly selected himself to perform at the Super Bowl LXI halftime show, scheduled to take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The 25-time Grammy Award winner is said to have made the decision over other considered artists, including Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Harry Styles.
Jay-Z and his entertainment company, Roc Nation, have been responsible for producing the Super Bowl halftime show since 2019. Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for February 14.
This would mark Jay-Z's first Super Bowl halftime performance. His wife, Beyoncé, headlined the show in 2013 and made a guest appearance in 2016. Jay-Z's current '30 Tour' celebrates the 30th anniversary of his 1996 debut album, 'Reasonable Doubt,' and has seen significant commercial success.
Jay-Z's most recent album was '4:44' in 2017. He has a substantial following, with 50.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, ranking him among the most-listened-to artists on the platform.
