Jared Young Out for Season After Concussion; Paramedic Transport Video Sparks Outrage

New York Mets first baseman Jared Young will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a severe concussion during a game on Thursday night. The injury occurred when Young's head collided with the knee of teammate Nolan McLean, causing him to lose consciousness.

Interim manager Andy Green confirmed Friday that Young experienced short-term memory loss following the incident and is suffering from a significant headache. Despite these issues, Green stated that Young has full limb mobility, is able to walk, and that initial medical tests, including a CT scan, yielded results considered optimistic for recovery. Young has since been released from the hospital and is attending follow-up medical appointments.

"Everything we have heard has been really optimistic from a recovery standpoint and getting-back-on-the-field-eventually standpoint. Relieved, I think everyone is," Green told reporters.

Fans, however, expressed dismay and criticism after a video circulated online showing paramedics struggling to load Young onto a medical cart. The footage appeared to show Young's head moving unnaturally multiple times during the transport from the field at Citi Field.

Online commentary from individuals identifying as paramedics questioned the competence and equipment of the medical crew. One user described the transport as "the most painful part of this entire accident," while another lamented the perceived lack of professionalism displayed by the staff.
