Jannik Sinner, the world number one tennis player, made a public appearance at the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, offering a brief update on his ongoing knee injury. Sinner, who has not competed since his Wimbledon victory in July, announced his withdrawal from the U.S. Open due to the injury.

When asked about his knee by La Repubblica, Sinner responded, “My knee? Everything is fine,” without elaborating further. The 25-year-old developed the knee issue after the grass-court season, an injury he had not experienced previously in his career. He also withdrew from the Cincinnati tune-up tournament before deciding to skip the U.S. Open.

At the event in Monza, Sinner was accompanied by fellow Italian tennis player Matteo Berrettini. Berrettini was recently defeated in the second round of the U.S. Open. The two players were also seen posing for a photograph with DJ Peggy Gou.

Sinner and Berrettini witnessed Kimi Antonelli secure a victory at the Italian Grand Prix, becoming the first Italian to win the event on home soil since 1966. Antonelli achieved this by coming back from 19th on the starting grid. Sinner has expressed support for Antonelli, recalling his own success at the Nitto ATP Finals. Following the race, Sinner posted on X, "Congratulazioni Kimi!"

Earlier, when asked by a Sky Sports reporter if he had spoken to Antonelli and if he was in good form, Sinner stated, “I think he has a good chance to go very far. He has the engine. He has the car. So, I wish him all the best.”
