Texas Rangers pitcher Jacob deGrom departed his start against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night after two innings because of triceps fatigue. DeGrom stated after the game that he is not overly worried about the issue.

The ace right-hander threw 32 pitches, 22 of which were for strikes, before exiting the game. He allowed one hit and struck out three batters during his brief appearance. DeGrom has been managing a history of injuries throughout his career, making any early departure from a start a point of attention for fans and analysts.

DeGrom signed with the Rangers in December 2022, agreeing to a five-year, $185 million contract. This season marks his first with the team after spending his previous 11 MLB seasons with the New York Mets. He has been a dominant pitcher when healthy, winning two National League Cy Young Awards during his tenure with the Mets.
